Are Windows Based Tablets the Future for Lawyers?

A demo version of  Windows 8 has been unveiled and is a potentially potent post post PC challenger  (say that 5 times fast :)) to Apple OS system devices– never mind that the public has not seen the hardware side of the equation needed to run this innovative software.   Nevertheless, I commend to you the following post by  Zach Epstein, that lays out the case that the future for productive work is in Windows based systems .  I must admit that while I love my iPad, I have a sneaking suspicion that Epstein may be right:

What do you think?

  1. I’ve seen a promo preview for Windows 8…while the “preview” makes it look pretty appealing for tablets, I’ll be interested to see how it does and what hardware it is put onto. If Microsoft is smart, they’ll do like Apple does and control the hardware and design specifically for that. I doubt they will though.

In my opinion, that’s the biggest hurdle. If the software works seamlessly on hardware the way Apple’s products do, then I have a feeling it will be successful. Microsoft has entered the tablet arena numerous times with dismal success. Windows 8 does have the look that could make it successful, but we’ll just have to wait and see!

    Great post!
